Stemming a Google Maps misnomer, an accidental discovery, this film comprises a collection of footage from one of Time Square’s last-standing DVD sex stores with private pleasure booths — a final relic of NYC’s historic peep shows. Intervening into the cathode ray signal, Kahn deploys hardwire glitching to distort a mundane assortment of female figures. Originally encoded onto silver discs these bodies finally escape the confines of our gaze through bright nodes of color, dissolving into abstraction. All semblance of female form now distorted through signal interceptions, reimagined on a bed of gelatine and degraded once more through chemical manipulation.
