Dedicated to Edmond Kahn, who passed away from Parkinson’s in 2022.
The film format adopts various methods of recording moving image: 8mm celluloid, DV tape, a Digital DSLR camera, and an iPhone.
At 17, I undertook the project to document the extensive collection of my grandfather Edmond Kahn, a French scientist and pioneer in early digital imaging. This film looks into the world of a retired scientist and avid collector of imaging contraptions, printed matter, and photography. Decades of matter are carefully compiled from the cellar to the attic, amongst hidden pornographic imagery.
